Alissa Barthel is a junior studying journalism and theater. As web editor, she’s excited for the opportunity to work towards making AccessU: Addiction. You can find her running around Coffman as a building manager and at the Guthrie as a stage manager. She is passionate about music, telling stories, and traveling to new places.

Haley Breshears is a senior majoring in journalism and minoring in Spanish. This semester she works as a caterer, a representative of the Learning Abroad Center, and a part time Spanish teacher. In her free time she loves to soak up the sun, nap, eat cookies, and read all the books she can get her hands on. She also loves to pet ALL the animals. All of them.

Precious Fondren is a junior majoring in professional journalism. She’s majoring in journalism because she loves telling stories of underrepresented communities.

Kelsey Roy is the data editor for Access U: Addiction. As a self-proclaimed “data geek”, she loves to crunch and analyze to find the stories hidden within the numbers. In her free time, she likes to spend time reading and baking cookies.

Eliana Schreiber is a senior journalism major and an associate reporter at the Minnesota Daily. She serves as the assistant editor, and writes about advocacy in the addiction community. When not working on stories, catch her eating all the vegan chocolate and listening to Hamilton.

Kassidy Tarala is a junior studying journalism, social justice and gender, women and sexuality studies at the University of Minnesota. She works for Lavender Magazine, the Minnesota Daily, the Twin Cities Daily Planet and Sidewalk Dog Media. She loves Ellen DeGeneres, dogs and baking!

Genevieve Vickers is a third-year journalism student at the U who covers mostly research. She has published numerous works with the Odyssey Online, and her first novel is slated to hit shelves soon. She also co-runs a blog. Besides writing, she loves playing music, drawing, her five cats, and her horse.

Alex Wittenberg is a senior studying journalism and political science. Alex is the online editor of The Wake, where he enjoys editing and writing stories about politics, culture and social justice. Big em dash guy.
